Dressing Aids

Objective To show assistive devices that are critical and important to the overall independence of individuals to dress themselves. AT Devices and Preparation Have:

  • Cuff/collar extender
  • Button hook
  • Zipper pull
  • Total hip replacement kit, (includes raised toilet seat, long handle sponge, long shoe horn, dressing stick, reacher, elastic shoe laces)
  • Velcro sew on or self-adhesive Procedure:
  • Demonstrate the device by using it and explain what you are doing.
  • Give examples of how others use the device and pass it around the group so they can see how it works.
  • Share tips and things you can do with the devices. Permit sharing of additional ideas from the group or audience, if time allows.
