PROFESSIONAL PARENT
Professional
Parent services are provided in a private residence, not the individual's
apartment or home. It is similar to a foster home or a surrogate family
setting. Trained staff and professional provide opportunities for the
individuals to be as independent and self sufficient as possible in a
home setting.
Services:
Services are dependent upon the individuals need. They might include:
- counselor
- transportation
- shopping
- 24-hour personal
assistance

To qualify for a professional parent placement contact the Division
of Services for People with Disabilities office. The number is located
in the phone book under Utah State Government.
Financing:
Once an individual qualifies for services there is no charge. An individual
receiving this service must have a source of income such as Supplemental
Security Income which will allow the individual to contribute toward living
expenses.
