GROUP HOMES

A group home means a single residence (home) where several individuals with disabilities reside. It is preferable that no more than four individuals with disabilities reside in a single residence. No more than eight individuals are allowed to reside in a single residence.

Services:
Services are dependent upon the individuals need. They might include:

  • counselor
  • transportation
  • shopping assistance
  • 24-hour personal assistance

Contact:
To qualify for a group home placement contact the local Division of Services for People with Disabilities office. Their phone number is in the local phone book under Utah State Government.

Financing:
Once an individual qualifies for services there is generally no charge. An individual receiving this service must have a source of income such as Supplemental Security Income, which will allow the individual to contribute toward expected living expenses.
