Some services (programs) include home health agencies, the Alternatives program, the Medicaid and a Medicaid Waiver, senior centers, adult daycare programs, Sheltered Workshops, Independent Living, and respite care to name a few. Legal Services are listed as an advocacy resource in this booklet.

Services and information can be located and accessed through local senior citizen centers, Area Agencies on Aging, or the Division of Services for People with Disabilities offices (DSPD), which are often a department within county, multi-county or state government offices.

State funding for services can be obtained by the Division of Services for People with Disabilities and the Division of Aging and Adult Services. Funding options can include services under the Older Americans Act, (legislation by Congress to provide services for persons age 60 and over regardless of income or ability to pay), Medicaid, Medicaid waivers, respite services, and private payment.
