MEDICAID
Aged,
Blind or Disabled Persons
The Aged, Blind or Disabled Programs are medical assistance programs for
individuals aged 65 years of age or older, blind or disabled. Persons
who receive SSI (Supplemental Security Income) or Social Security Disability
benefits meet the conditions for disability under this programs guidelines.
For other persons to qualify on the basis of blindness or disability,
the person must meet additional standards. Each State may have different
programs and services to offer under the Federal Medicaid Program.
Service:
This is a program within the regular Medicaid program to help with
some health care costs.

Financing:
Financial qualifications for this program do apply and will be determined
when the individual is assessed for the program.
Qualified Medicare
Beneficiaries (QMB) Program
The Qualified Medicare
Beneficiaries (QMB) program is for people who receive Part A Medicare
and whose income is below 100% of poverty.
Service:
This program pays:
- Medicare CO-payments
- coinsurance amounts
for medical services covered by Medicare, including:
- the CO-payments
for Medicare-approved skilled nursing home care
- It also pays
the Medicare Part B premiums for eligible clients
- This program
pays only for any services covered by Medicare
