RESIDENTIAL CARE FACILITIES

  A residential health care facility is for people who need some help with daily living activities, but do not require nursing care.two people in elevator

Services:
These facilities provide:

  • housing
  • 24-hour protective oversight
  • assistance with such daily activities as:
  • dressing
  • meals
  • bathing
  • medication reminders

Residential care may be provided in small homes, large apartments, or part of a senior retirement community or a nursing home. To choose the residential care facility that is best for your needs, please review the checklist provided by the Utah Department of Health Bureau of Licensing found in the resource section of this booklet.

To locate a residential care facility near you there are several points of contact including: the local Area Agency on Aging or Senior Citizen's Center.

Financing:
Residential care facilities are generally private pay facilities. At this point there are no funding resources available to help pay for residential care.
