HOME AND COMMUNITY-
BASED WAIVER PROGRAMS
Some people
with special medical needs may qualify for Medicaid through waiver programs.
People who qualify get extra benefits. The waiver lets Medicaid pay for
support and services to help people live safely in their own homes or
the community.
Services:
The services may include:
- emergency response
system
- homemaker services
- group home
- a day treatment
center
- adult day care
- a private nurse
- family support
- respite care for
family members who need a break from caring for a disabled or elderly
family member
- someone to help
you work at a job
- transportation
to places other than a doctor's office or clinic
- case management
services
