UTAH FAIR HOUSING ACT

In addition to discrimination covered under the Federal Fair Housing Act, Utahns have the right to select housing regardless of their source of income (for example, government assistance) under the Utah Fair Housing Act.

Discrimination occurs if a person is prevented from any of the following activities, based on race, color, national origin, religion, sex, familial status, disability, or source of income:

  • inspection or renting an apartment
  • viewing or purchasing a home
  • applying for or securing a home loan
  • purchasing homeowners insurance
