They offer members a range of health benefits, including preventative care, for a set monthly fee. There are many kinds of HMO's. The network of providers may operate from: a central medical office or clinic private offices Choice: The Health Maintenance Organization (HMO) plan will provide a list of doctors from which to choose a primary care physician. This doctor will coordinate medical care and must approve referrals to specialists and other medical care providers. Costs: Some HMO's require a co-payment, like $5 or $10 for various services.
