Privacy Policy

• We publish reviews and guides, and we help connect you with companies that sell medical alert systems, hearing aids and related products.
• If you ask to be contacted, we send your information only to the company named on the form, and only after you agree.
• We are paid by those companies when we send them a request or a call, and when you buy through some of our links.
• We don't sell your health information to data brokers, and we don't use your quiz answers or contact details for advertising.
• You can ask us to see, correct or delete your information at any time.

Information you give us

• Contact details: name, email address, phone number, ZIP code and, if a partner needs it, mailing address.
• Quiz answers: multiple-choice answers about who the product is for, living situation, mobility, hearing or safety needs, and preferences. These answers may be health-related.
• Product interest and consents: which product or company you chose, and whether you agreed to be contacted.
• Messages: anything you send through our contact form or by email.

Information collected automatically

• Device and usage data: IP address, browser and device type, pages viewed, time on page, the page you came from, and the ad or link that brought you here (for example UTM tags and ad click IDs).
• Visitor ID: a random identifier stored in a first-party cookie for up to 90 days, so we can tell which visits belong together. It doesn't contain your name or contact details.
• Form interaction data: whether a field was completed or showed an error. We don't record what you type until you submit.
• Call data: when you call a number on our site, our call-tracking provider records the call time and length, the number you called from, the page you called from and, where you're told so at the start of the call, a recording.

Information from others

• Partners may tell us whether they accepted your request and whether you bought, so we can be paid correctly and measure what works.

• To send your request to the company you chose, and to show you its phone number or confirmation
• To run, secure and fix the site, and to stop spam, fraud and bots
• To measure which pages, ads and quizzes work, using our own database and approved analytics tools
• To answer your messages
• To keep records of your consent and of the requests we sent, and to settle billing with partners
• To comply with law and enforce our Terms

We don't use quiz answers or contact details to target ads, and we don't send them to ad platforms.

We are paid by partners when we send them a request or a qualified call. That may make the sharing a "sale" under some state laws; see Your rights and choices.

We use first-party cookies for the visitor ID and site functions. On pages without forms or quizzes, we may use analytics and testing tools, which can set their own cookies. We don't load advertising pixels on quiz or form pages. You can block cookies in your browser; the site still works, but we can't remember your earlier visits. To opt out of any cross-site advertising cookies, use Your Privacy Choices or turn on Global Privacy Control in your browser.

If you agree on a form, the named partner may call or text you, including with automated technology or prerecorded messages, at the number you gave. Agreeing is never required to buy anything. To stop texts, reply STOP. To stop calls, tell the caller or contact the partner. To stop emails from us, use the unsubscribe link. Message and data rates may apply.

We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes we collected it for, including to meet legal, accounting or reporting requirements.

To decide how long to keep it, we look at the amount, nature and sensitivity of the information, the risk of harm from unauthorized use or disclosure, why we process it and whether we can achieve that another way, and what the law requires.

For tax purposes, the law requires us to keep basic records of our business transactions for six years.

In some cases we may de-identify information for research or statistics. We may then use it indefinitely without further notice to you, because it can no longer identify you.

Server logs are deleted after 30 days.

Data is encrypted in transit and at rest, stored in a dedicated AWS account covered by a Business Associate Agreement, and accessible only to people who need it. Form data is never put in page addresses, browser storage or analytics tags. No system is perfectly secure; if a breach affects your information, we'll notify you as the law requires.

Depending on where you live, you can ask us to:

• confirm what we hold about you and give you a copy
• correct it
• delete it
• stop selling or sharing it, and stop using it for targeted advertising
• withdraw consent you gave, including consent to share health information
• tell you which third parties received it

To make a request, use our privacy request form or email aginginplaceorg@gmail.com. We'll verify the request using the email or phone number you gave us, and respond within 45 days. You can use an authorized agent. If we deny your request, you can appeal by replying to our decision; if you're still not satisfied, you can contact your state attorney general. We won't treat you differently for using these rights.

We can't delete information a partner already received; contact them directly as well, using the details in their privacy policy.

Your Privacy Choices

Use our Your Privacy Choices page to opt out of any sale or sharing of personal information and of targeted advertising. We treat a Global Privacy Control signal as a valid opt-out for that browser.

State-specific notes

• California: In the last 12 months we collected identifiers, internet activity, approximate location (from IP and ZIP), and health-related characteristics from quiz answers, for the purposes above. We disclosed identifiers, product interest and, where needed, quiz answers to the named partners, which may be a "sale." We use sensitive personal information only to deliver the request you made.
• Washington, Nevada, Connecticut and other states with health-data laws: see the Consumer Health Data Privacy Notice.

The site is for adults. We don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 18; if we learn we have, we delete it.

Partner websites and other linked sites have their own privacy policies. We aren't responsible for them.

We'll post any change here with a new effective date. If a change is material, we'll show a notice on the site before it takes effect, and we won't apply it to health information we already hold without your consent.
